Robert C.'s Story

Life I got married in 2003 to a girl from Atherton HS. We have a 11 yr old Jack Russell/Corgi named Max. We live in Heritage Creek, a subdivision that was created by the Regional Airport Authority when they bought all the homes around Louisville's airport. I lived in Edgewood for nine years before moving out here. We got a free parcel of land and had a brand new house built. I am a volunteer at Louisville's Standiford Field as an Airport Ambassador. I work at the Information Booth in the airport terminal. I enjoy helping people when they come into our city and showing them plenty of sights to see while they are here. We can always use more volunteers in our community. If you are interested, get in touch with me. While growing up in West Virginia, I attended Fayetteville HS. My biggest crush at Fayetteville was Margaret Koontz. However, I was so shy I never could even say hello to her. When I moved to Louisville, I had a huge crush on Rhonda Allen from the moment I laid eyes on her till I graduated. I never even asked her out the whole time I was there. Mrs. Ayers inspired me the most while in Fayetteville. Mr. Young inspired me the most while at Durrett. Yes, I would definitely do it all over again and I would probably be married to Rhonda ...Expand for more
Allen. She was as shy as I was though. My Father passed away when I was nine yrs old. Then my Grandpa died when I was ten. My step-mom died when I was 13. I then moved to Louisville where I lived with my Mother until she died when I was 21. Since that time, I have grown into a man that had one dream-to fly. However, at age 40, I became a Diabetic. After years of research, I found a way to attain my dream and became a Sport Pilot flying Ultralight aircraft. I own an AFU Renegade Powered Parachute and fly it any chance I can. I've flown it over Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee and Ky. I currently have 208 hrs in June of 2009 as Pilot in Command and have taken up 98 people from age 8 to 92. I love taking up people who are afraid of heights. I dispell their fear nearly every time. Each person falls in love with it and are glad they faced their fear and made the flight. I want to continue to do this. I feel this is what I should be doing. Eventually, I would love to get into something a bit faster like an amphibian called the Sea Rey. I love the fact that it can land on water and land. Its good to be able to dream. Its even better to accomplish one. I did it and Thank God for each and every day that I can fly another day.
